The parliamentary evening on the issue of “Salafist radicalization and political force: options for action for the handling of Salafism in Germany” on April 13, 2016 in Berlin took place under the patronage of Stefan Müller, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Education and Research. The State Secretary who at the same time is chair of the Foundation Council of the DSF held the opening address of the event. Following his speech, Prof.Dr. Harald Müller, PRIF, presented the project and acknowledged the intensive work of all the project participants. Prof. Dr. Susanne Schröter, Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main and certified psychologist Ahmad Mansour gave insight into their research module in short speeches and presented political possibilities for action for the handling of Salafism. The main focus was on narratives of justification of salafist jihadists and on possibilities of prevention and deradicalization.
The following discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schneckener, chair of the Executive Board of the DSF and political scientist at the University Osnabrueck. In the lively debate options for political action toward prevention and deradicalization were discussed.
